Dynamos Cricket
June 15, 2021Dynamos cricket is an ECB initiative which has launched this summer with a focus on ‘developing fundamental movement skills and applying them’ in cricket-based drills and scenarios.
Unlike All Stars, Dynamos cricket is coached in both mixed and single-gendered groups. Girls can therefore learn and develop their skills among other girls which can help to boost their confidence and meet like-minded girls playing cricket. Dynamos focuses on the 8-11 age group and the activities cater for all abilities – they are truly fun for all!
Dynamos sessions involve skills coaching and development through fun and creative drills, each focusing on a different of the three major components of cricket: batting, bowling, and fielding. The sessions each finish with a game of countdown cricket. Countdown cricket is a game invented specifically for dynamos where the children
Dynamos is run by volunteer coaches and parents who are taught all the skills needed to run an effective and enjoyable session each week. Across 18 Dynamos club centres in Suffolk, we have over 300 Dynamos registered for this summer, including almost 60 girls. For a first season, it is great to see so many children getting involved in the game and we hope to see many more players and clubs getting involved in forthcoming years.
