Building a base – CUB Hub Programme
Now in its second year the Suffolk Cricket CUB Hub programme offers girls up to U11 the opportunity to access to quality coaching with regular playing and training opportunities to as many children as possible.
Open to all, with no need for a trial process previously a feature of these age groups. This meant increased participation levels with 30 children taking part in each of the first 2 years of the programme.
From a performance perspective Suffolk Young Cricketers used the programme to create a wider base of participation to grow cricket in the County and help to contribute to pushing the game forward for years to come.
At its core, the programme aims to inspire and foster the raw enthusiasm that a young girl has for cricket and gives them the opportunity to improve whilst having fun during the process.
In a no- COVID year all CUB Hub participants take part in a full Winter Programme of coaching. This then leads into a Summer of festivals where internal fixtures would see the players have lots of opportunity to learn more through playing. In addition, selected players will represent Suffolk in fixtures against other equivalent counties.
