Parkers Pitches increase sponsorship

April 27, 2022

PARKERS Pitches have increased their sponsorship of Suffolk Cricket.

The sports turf management firm, who are based near Bury St Edmunds, have supported the county for the past four years.

Parkers Pitches, who have previously supported Suffolk Under-18s and will continue to do so, have agreed to be a business partner for the next three years.

Will Parker, who runs the business, plays for Woolpit 1st XI and represented Suffolk in the former Minor Counties Championship.

Cricket is, and always has been, a huge part of Will’s life – he started playing for Suffolk Youth when he was aged just nine and representing his county always meant a lot to him.

Will (pictured above) said: “As a company we believe that sport, and specifically youth sport, is so formative and important, both physically and socially. We are now really proud that we are in a position to give back to the same sporting community that has been such a huge part of my life.”

Will outlined the benefits to Parkers Pitches of sponsoring Suffolk Cricket.

“Aside from the obvious benefits of having the brand in the public eye, the core benefit for us as a company is staying in touch with the conversation.

“The whole team works so hard and often very long hours, so when we are tagged in cricket discourse on Twitter (as sponsors or otherwise) it brings us back to why we are doing it.

“Seeing Suffolk Cricket play on pitches we have helped create, and grounds we have also enjoyed playing at is great – to see teams and players enjoying ‘the fruits of our labour’ as it were and being part of that conversation is so gratifying and encouraging,” said Will.

Suffolk CCC Chairman Andrew Squire said: “Our thanks go to Parkers Pitches (Will Parker and his team) who have supported Suffolk Cricket mainly with the young cricketers over a number of years now and their continued support is most welcome.

“Their continued professional preparation of quality grounds/wickets for so many Suffolk representative games including the NCCA game against Kent CCC for the first time shows their commitment in helping Suffolk cricket progress.”
