Cub Hub Phase (U9-U12)

Suffolk Cricket’s Cub Hub programme supports the development of boys and girls from U9-U12, providing high quality coaching and playing opportunities across the county.

Our winter programme is designed to enhance players’ enjoyment of the game, improve them as young cricketers and develop friendships with fellow young cricketers. Sessions take place across four venues in Suffolk. This winter, between November and April, children will receive a minimum of 20 hours of coaching, giving them time to learn, practice and enjoy the sport.

The winter programme begins with three free observation sessions. This allows the coaches to get to know each player, understand their current skill levels, and determine how we can best enhance their development. Following the observation period, players will be placed into development groups to ensure we can appropriately challenge them throughout the winter and that they feel supported within their group. Groupings are fluid throughout the programme as players continue to develop.

Our coaching framework balances skill development, game based learning and individual player development, helping young cricketers build confidence while developing the skills they need to progress.

We are committed to providing opportunities for every young cricketer to improve and enjoy the game, with dedicated girls only sessions also available.

The winter programme continues into the summer, providing players with further opportunities to develop their skills and put their learning into practice through training and matchplay.
