SAFEGUARDING TRAINING COURSES
It is every club’s legal and moral responsibility to provide a duty of care to children within their structure. The Suffolk Cricket Board Safeguarding Structure is designed to provide every club with help and support and to signpost you to all the information you need to make your club safe and welcoming to children within our game.
SAFEGUARDING LEVEL 2 ONLINE TRAINING:
Safeguarding level 2 is the new course from the Cricket Regulator safeguarding team on behalf of the ECB, which has replaced the old Safeguarding for Specialist Roles (SSR) courses. Robust safeguarding helps to keep our cricket community safe and welcoming. This course will provide the learner with what to look out for and how to respond to concerns.
This course is a requirement for the following roles:
- Coach or Activator
- Umpire or Scorer
- Committee Member
- Safeguarding Officer
- Captain or Team Manager
You can access the course via the following link: https://booking.ecb.co.uk/WykK8W
If you already have an e-learning account with the ECB, simply log into your portal and search for the course.
CLUB SAFEGUARDING OFFICERS
The ECB requires all Club Safeguarding Officers to also attend Safe Hands Workshop to support and equip them for the role. This workshop is run by the local County Cricket Board and is delivered by ECB trained tutors.
The certificate of completion will be provided by the tutor at the course conclusion. It is recommended that this is displayed publicly in the club and includes the Club Safeguarding Officer’s contact details.
This course must be renewed every three years.
