Ex-England pair speak at Bury St Edmunds CC lunch

June 25, 2023

TWO former England cricketers entertained guests at a lunch at Bury St Edmunds Cricket Club.

Ex-Essex all-rounder Derek Pringle and former Middlesex seamer Mike Selvey did a Q&A session for around 40 people at the Victory Ground.

The Past Players Lunch took place on Saturday during the Thurlow Nunn East Anglian Premier League match versus Sudbury, which Bury won by two wickets.

Pringle and Selvey answered questions surrounding the England versus Australia Ashes Series and The Hundred during a thought-provoking Q&A session.

The pair, who have both enjoyed long and successful careers in the media since their playing days, are long-standing friends of Bury St Edmunds CC stalwart Dave Norman, who joined the club back in 1967.

Paul Whittaker, Chair of Bury St Edmunds CC, said: “This was the second of four Past Player Lunches we have organised during the 2023 season.

“It was wonderful to see so many people attending and, on this occasion, enjoy the company of both Derek Pringle and Mike Selvey, who did an interesting Q&A session.

“The club has a great history and we want to connect all the members of the club, both past and present, to enjoy the superb facilities Bury St Edmunds Cricket Club now has to offer.”
