Sudbury to host NCCA Trophy Semi-Final
July 4, 2023SUFFOLK will stage their NCCA Trophy Semi-Final versus Cumbria at Sudbury CC.
The match, which will be Suffolk’s first semi-final since they lost to Devon at Sidmouth in 2018, will take place on Sunday, July 16th, start 11am.
It will be the third time that Suffolk have played at the Friars Street ground in this season’s 50-over competition.
Suffolk saw off Shropshire by 69 runs on their way to topping Group 3 and then defeated Northumberland by 87 runs in Sunday’s quarter-final.
The two teams met in this competition as recently as two years ago when Cumbria beat Suffolk by five runs in the quarter-finals at Barrow-in-Furness.
Suffolk CCC Secretary Toby Pound said: “The semi-final against Cumbria will be our first at home since 2003 and we are really pleased that Sudbury have agreed to host us.
“They have done a superb job in putting on our matches against Shropshire and Northumberland and we really appreciate all the hard work that goes on beforehand and on the day itself.
“We are all looking forward to another great day and to reach our first final since 2007 would be very special.”
