
Suffolk v Essex Spectator Guide

Below is a guide for spectators attending the fixture.
Date – Sunday, July 21st 2024
Start Time – 11am; Gates open at 9.30am.
Format – 50 overs-a-side
Match Sponsors – JLS Catering Group
Match Venue – Woolpit Cricket Club
Location – Rectory Lane, Woolpit, Suffolk IP30 9QP
Directions – Come off the A14 at Woolpit and drive into village and turn right at the local garage. Turn right into Rectory Lane and follow all the way until you reach the cricket club.
Car Parking and cost – Car parking is on the second field at the club. It is free of charge to park but you must have an entry ticket to the match to access.
Admission – £10 for adults, U18s free if accompanied by one paying adult. Payment by cash or card on the day. Suffolk members will be admitted free of charge on production of their membership card.
Souvenir 28-page programme – Included in the price of an adult ticket. The programme will cost £3 if sold separately.
Silent Auction – A Silent Auction will be held during the match. Details will be in the match programme.
Seating – Please bring your own chairs and blankets
Food and Drink – There will be hot and cold food and drink outlets in the ground
Off-field entertainment – The Stowmarket Concert Band will be playing. During the interval between innings there will be All Stars and Dynamo Activities run by Suffolk Cricket.

Ground regulations – Woolpit CC for Suffolk v Essex
General Terms & Conditions
- All matches are played in accordance with the rules and regulations of the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).
- If there is no Play on the day Refund of admission charges will not be made, unless otherwise advised at the time of ticket purchase. If more than 20 over are bowled during the day there will be no refund on tickets.
- All persons entering the ground shall have both paid for admission and received an appropriate ticket, or appropriate complimentary ticket or email allowing entry.
- Young person`s under 18 can enter the ground for free of charge but require a ticket, which needs to be obtained from Eventbrite and they must be accompanied by an adult.
- Any Concessionary persons will need to have a complimentary ticket or email from SCB allowing entry for the day. Those who are linked to players and Woolpit CC sponsors lists of names will also be given to those on the gates.
- Woolpit Cricket/Suffolk Cricket accepts no responsibility for loss or damage to property or injury to persons whilst on the Club’s premises.
- Admission and the right to remain in the ground is strictly on the condition that spectators shall not commit any of the following acts:
- Failing to comply with the directions given by a member of the ground authority including, but not limited to, stewards, club volunteers and Police Officers.
- Going onto the playing area at any time or interfering with the normal course of play in any manner.
- A Throwing or discharging missiles.
- Leave belongings unattended.
- Interfering in any way with the comfort, enjoyment or safety of spectators or players, including:
- The use of any anti-social or discriminatory language or gestures.
- Making unnecessary noise such as that from the use of radios, whistles, bells, cans or persistent chanting, in any part of the ground.
- Unreasonably obstructing the view of other spectators.
- Carrying offensive weapons of any kind.
- Causing damage to, including writing upon, any of the Club’s premises.
Car Parking
- Car parking is available at the ground or at other sites within the village. Cars will be parked at the owner’s risk.
Alcohol Policy
Woolpit CC operates a Think 25 policy for the sale of alcohol on this day.
- Woolpit CC reserves the right to:
– Close bars at any time and restrict the consumption of alcohol.
– Refuse to serve any person who looks under 18 and cannot provide evidence to the contrary.
– Limit the importation of alcohol into the ground
– No alcohol in the family enclosure area
- No Glass bottles or drinking vessels to be brought into the ground.
Smoking Policy
- Woolpit CC /Suffolk cricket has adopted a smoking ban in all areas, of the ground on match day. This includes all forms of electronic smoke simulation. However there will be designated areas in the car parking area for smoking.
Dog Policy.
- No dogs are allowed to be brought into the Ground during this event, apart from assistant dogs.
Telephony & Electronic Equipment
- The flying of drones or any other human controlled aerial object above any part ground is prohibited without the specific permission from The Civil Aviation Authority and the Club.
- During the hours of play, radios may only be used with earpieces or headphones.
- Use of a mobile telephone, computer or other kind of communication device either (i) users to be mindful of using the devices in a manner that does not disturb other spectators enjoyment of the game. (ii) Also cannot communicate or in any way transmit any form of commentary, data or other material in relation to a cricket match taking place at the ground for any kind of improper betting or other corrupt or unlawful purpose.
- The match will be live streamed in compliance with ECB Regulations and Safeguarding guidance.
If there are any queries about these regulations, please consult with the management team on the day consisting of representative s form the Club and County, who will consider any requests; their decision will be final and will be taken to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all spectators on the day.
