New Suffolk Young Cricketers U12 Boys Programme

July 17, 2024

Suffolk Cricket are pleased to announce the new SYC U12 Boys Programmes for 2024/25.

To promote early engagement and enable more players across Suffolk to be involved the programme will be structured differently and will now consist of 4 different stages.

Stage 1: Suffolk Cricket are running ‘Skills Observation Programmes’ that will run for 5 consecutive Sundays across two different venues (Ipswich & Bury St Edmunds) in November & December.

Stage 2: A squad will then be selected, one from each venue, and offered a chance to sign up for the ‘SYC County Age Group Winter Training Programme’ that will run from January to March.

Stage 3: These squads will then be invited to play in internal matches alongside and against players from the other location when the season begins to build up their match experience and give them an opportunity to showcase everything they have learnt over the winter.

Stage 4: Following these internal games, players across both sites will then be selected to represent Suffolk in external fixtures vs other neighbouring Counties.

You can now sign up to attend the ‘Skills Observation Programmes’ now using the link below:

The initial ‘Skills Observation Programme’ will be run on 24th November & 1st, 8th, 15th & 22nd December 2024.

The cost of the ‘Skills Observation Programme’ is £25.

Those players that successfully move into stage 2 will have this initial £25 payment deducted from the cost of the SYC County Age Group Winter Training Programme – cost TBC.

The County Age Group Winter Training Programme will be held at the same venue as you select for the initial ‘Skills Observation Programme’ however it will increase to a 2 hour session, so may start or end an hour before or after the original times.
