New Women’s Coach announced
November 27, 2024Suffolk Cricket are pleased to announce that Johan de Silva will become our Suffolk Women’s Coach for 2025.
We were extremely fortunate to have a very high calibre of candidates apply, however following our recruitment process, which included both face to face interviews and observed practical coaching sessions, we came to the decision to appoint Johan.
Johan is an ECB Advanced qualified coach, has coached within both the Suffolk and Middlesex Performance Pathway programmes, coached county players on a 1-2-1 basis and has considerable experience coaching at both club level and across a number of London Boroughs.
Johan will be responsible for not only coaching our Suffolk Women’s team, but also our u18’s Girls and Centre of Excellence players.
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank Rob Southall, who was our long serving Suffolk Women’s County coach. Rob dedicated many years to developing and supporting county players and we hope he’ll continue to be involved in our Pathway programme.
With the ECB’s new Women’s domestic County structure, these are exciting times for the women’s (and girls game) and we sincerely hope Suffolk can be successful and also develop players that go on to become professional cricketers.
We wish Johan and indeed all coaches involved in our Pathway programme all the very best for 2025.
