Women & Girl’s Cricket End of Season Festivals
September 9, 2025Women’s Softball Celebration Day 2025
On Sunday 31st August, 8 women’s softball teams attended our Women’s Softball Celebration Day. Thank you to all who were involved, especially those volunteers that helped to umpire and score throughout the course of the festival. It was great to also see some new teams from this season sign up to play in this event.
17 games were played throughout the course of the day with a final between Felixstowe & Corinthians CC and Ipswich CC. The final came down to just 7 runs with F&C running out as winners on the day. A huge thank you to Stowmarket CC for hosting the day and helping us to make the event a success. We look forward to seeing this grow next year with more teams entering.
With the season now coming to an end, please keep an eye out for indoor opportunities throughout the course of the winter months. Indoor cricket is a great way to get you season ready before heading outdoors.
Women’s softball continues to grow throughout the county with more women getting involved in the sport. If you have any questions about joining a team or starting one up, please contact Amy (arichford@suffolkcricket.org) .

Girl’s Softball Festivals
Throughout the summer a number of girl’s softball festivals have taken place across the county. This season has seen a number of new girls teams form across the county including: Tuddenham CC, Mellis CC, Beccles CC and Walsham Le Willows CC, who all took part in one of our softball festivals. It has been great to see so many of you turn out for these events.
Some fantastic cricket was seen at these festivals, with lots of the girls taking away some England Castore kit as prizes. There were plenty of smiles on the faces of our youngsters, which is exactly what we love to see at these festivals! We hope to see more girls attending next summer! Thank you to the volunteers at our clubs that continue to grow the cricketing opportunities for the girls at club level.
As we head towards the end of the season, please keep a look out for indoor opportunities during the winter months!
If you are interested in getting involved at your local club or you have a youngster that is keen to join a club, please get in touch with Amy (arichford@suffolkcricket.org) .
