Feroze signs as Suffolk’s pro
November 24, 2025FEROZE Khushi says scoring big runs for Suffolk could be his route back into first-class cricket.
Suffolk have moved swiftly to recruit Khushi as their professional for the 2026 season after George Rhodes called time on his career with the county as he could no longer commit to the role.
The 26-year-old, who left Essex after scoring 1,922 runs in 65 matches across all formats following his debut in 2020, spent last with the South Asian Cricket Academy (SACA) set-up following his release from the first-class county in October 2024.
Khushi (pictured batting above) was still on a dual registration with Suffolk, for whom he scored an undefeated 120 on his debut in a six-wicket win versus Northumberland in the final Championship fixture of the 2019 season.
Although his appearances had been limited to a handful of matches since, Suffolk have remained in contact with Khushi, who hopes to be available to play all three NCCA competition formats.
The right-hand bat said: “I’m grateful for the opportunity to play for Suffolk again, especially as the county pro. It’s a team that I’ve known for a while now who I’ve played for and against on several occasions.
“I’ve had good memories here in the past and just happy to be involved again and excited for the challenge ahead.
“The decision was definitely a lot easier knowing I had already played for the county in the past and being familiar with most of the boys and coach Manny (Adam Mansfield), so I am quite familiar with the surroundings which makes life a bit easier and that was a big part of my decision to sign for Suffolk.
“I am looking forward to playing alongside a few familiar faces and a few new ones too, which is all part of the process. There are a few that I haven’t seen for a long while, so it should be good to catch up and also get to know some I haven’t met before.”
Khushi believes scoring heavily for Suffolk could be a route back into the first-class game.
He said: “It’s still my ambition to play pro cricket in all formats for sure. I am absolutely determined to get back into the pro scene. I still believe I’ve got what it takes and plenty more to offer in that regard.
“I’m motivated enough to keep driving and pushing every day to work hard in training and keep improving as a player.
“I’d like to believe doing well for Suffolk and hopefully scoring lots of runs will have a positive impact back into county cricket. I think whenever you put in strong or big performances it will always count for something and make you standout and I just hope this will be recognised throughout all the pro teams around the country.”
Khushi turned in a man-of-the-match display for Essex Eagles against Suffolk in the NCCA Showcase match at Woolpit CC in 2024, scoring a sparkling 181 off 142 deliveries.
He recalled: “It was a great game and great spectacle and pretty hard-fought game too. I was pleased to perform and do well on a personal note.
“I think whenever you put in a MOTM performance and with it being one of the biggest hundreds I’d scored for Essex and most importantly you win, it’s always up there as a personal highlight of yours.
“It’s hard to say exactly where it would sit if I had to rank it but it would definitely be high up for sure.”
Suffolk head coach Adam Mansfield said: “Feroze is a brilliant signing for us. We know his quality, and he’s shown a real desire to get back into the professional game, something I believe he’s capable of.
“We hope to have him available for the full season, but at the same time, we’d be delighted if he earns an opportunity back in the pro game to show his qualities.
“I know he’ll bring professionalism and dedication to a young group of players who are striving for success.”
