THREE female Suffolk coaches took part in a session on the outfield at Lord’s.

The coaching clinic was one of a dozen organised around the country as part of the ICC Cricket 4 Good programme.

The global community outreach programme is aimed at leveraging the vast power and reach of cricket to transform the lives of children and families worldwide.

The hour-long clinics have been delivered alongside a training session of each team participating in the Women’s T20 World Cup currently taking place in this country.

Players from Australia, who defeated the West Indies by eight wickets on Tuesday to reach Sunday’s final, took part in the session at Lord’s last Friday.

Suffolk coaches Evie Booker, Laura de Silva and Amy Richford were invited to participate in the event, which involved children aged between 11 and 14 from four different local secondary schools.

Amy, who is Suffolk Cricket’s Women’s & Girls’ Officer, said: “It was a real privilege to coach on the hallowed turf of Lord’s alongside some of the Australian squad who are playing in the Women’s T20 World Cup.

“We were all grateful for the opportunity as something like this doesn’t happen very often.”
