Suffolk’s most successful season!
September 22, 2026THE 2026 season is now officially the most successful ever in the history of Suffolk Cricket!
This season has been a stand-out year both in terms of individual and collective success.
Although the Men’s 1st XI won the MCCA Trophy at Lord’s in 2007 and the East of England Development League, no season compares with the summer of 2026.
Four Suffolk sides won silverware as follows:
- Suffolk Women’s 1st XI – Metro Bank One Day Cup Women’s League Division 2B champions
- Suffolk Men’s 2nd XI – East of England Development League champions
- Suffolk Men’s Over-50s 2nd XI – County Championship Plate winners
- Suffolk Men’s Over-70s – County Championship Bowl winnersgggg

The Women’s 1st XI finished runners-up in the Vitality Blast Women’s League 3 Division 2A for the first time.
The Men’s 1st XI also finished runners-up in Eastern Division One of the NCCA Cluberly Championship for the third season running, as well as reaching the Super 12s for the second year in a row.
Individual achievements included:
- Izzy Sidhu signing a professional rookie contract with first-class county Surrey and making her debut in the Metro Bank Women’s One-Day Cup
- Evie Booker making her debut for first-class county Leicestershire debut in the Metro Bank Women’s One-Day Cup
- Jack Auld making his debut for England Under-19s, signing a rookie contract with first-class county Essex and making his first-class debut
Suffolk Cricket Chief Executive Vicki Askew said: “As the season draws to a close, it is great to reflect back on the successes and achievements of the Suffolk teams and individuals.
“This has been our most successful year to date in terms of success in competitions.
“It is rewarding for all the hard work of the players and the staff teams to see Suffolk winning some titles and promotions and also individuals making great strides in their cricket careers.
“As we now enter our period of review and planning for next year, we can focus our attention to building on this year’s success, and challenging ourselves for even better next year.”
