“In an era when the Spirit of Cricket has never been more important, Framlingham College provided an outstanding example of what the game seeks to teach young people.
“Their players demonstrated integrity, humility, respect and self-discipline, recognising that cricket is about far more than simply winning or losing.
“They played the game in the right way, upholding its traditions whilst embracing its values of fairness, respect and enjoyment for all participants.”
Framlingham College’s cricket coach Sam Arthurton said: “Framlingham College are delighted to have been awarded the Forty Club trophy for 2026. The game itself was a great game played competitively whilst within a great spirit.
“The schools’ sporting values were demonstrated brilliantly throughout the game, which created a positive experience for everyone involved.
“Thanks again go to the players, umpires, catering staff, ground staff and the wider school for all their efforts for whom made it such a great day.

“The school looks forward to the fixture again next summer and receiving the trophy at Trent bridge in November.”
The college’s Director of Sport Tom Pierce and Arthurton along with 1st XI opening bowler Felix Norris and opening bat/wicketkeeper Reilly Borges have been invited to the Forty Club’s Dinner at Trent Bridge next month to collect their award.
