U12 phase

Our U12 Programme for Boys and Girls forms part of our Early Engagement Programme. Across the county we have three venue; Framlingham College, Ipswich School, South Lee School.

For this programme you will sign up initially for three weeks (FREE) and these sessions are skills observation sessions where the players will be RAG rated by our coaches on batting skills, fielding skills, and bowling skills.

Following these three sessions our coaches will then select those who are most appropriate for the programme and there will be 16 players at each centre, meaning 48 boys at U12 across the county and 32 girls at U12 across the county.

Please note this programme is only for children who are currently in school year 7 from September 2025.

Following these observation sessions, a select group of 16 boys and 16 girls will be chosen from each of the three centres. Consequently, a total of 48 boys and 32 girls will be selected to form the county’s U12 programme, representing the future of Suffolk Cricket.

If selected, players will join a 12-week training programme. There will be a cost for this phase to support the running of the programme.

It’s all about boosting your cricketing skills and helping you develop. We kick things off with indoor winter sessions, really building up that strong base. Once the weather gets nicer, we’ll head outdoors for summer training. This is where you’ll get some awesome chances to put your skills into practice in real game situations.

A big part of the summer is playing internal matches, so you can really test yourself, get smarter with your tactics, and gain some great match experience. This constant mix of training and playing is important for young cricketers as they progress.
