County Age Group Cricket
June 21, 2021County age group cricket in Suffolk involves girls from U11 to U18. Each squad is selected through a series of trials in the winter, ready for winter training to commence. The teams play matches against other counties throughout the summer. Suffolk has been extremely successful in previous years, with the U15 girls finishing top of their group in 2018 and second in 2019 and the U13 ‘Suns’ finishing top in 2017.
Andrew Blanchard organises the Suffolk county age group teams, along with a series of team managers, coaches, and chaperones, without whom the season could not go ahead. Andrew had this to say on Suffolk’s county age group cricket this Summer.
Suffolk Girls County Age Group Squads ready for a busy Summer
After a reduced 2020 season and a postponed Winter Training programme the Suffolk Girls County Age Group squads are raring to go in what promises to be a busy Summer ahead.
The addition of a second U13 squad is further evidence of not only the continued growth in participation across Suffolk but also quality of players coming through our programmes.
The summer will see all our squads compete in a full match programme supplemented by training days.
The continued development of our players is vital and we are proud that a number of our U15 and U18 squad members have already this season represented the Women’s 1st XI side during their T20 campaign.
