Magnus Group are new main sponsorsFebruary 21, 2022
THE Magnus Group are the new main sponsors of Suffolk Cricket.
The road haulage, logistics and warehousing company, who are based at Great Blakenham just outside Ipswich, have agreed a three-year sponsorship deal.
The five-figure sum, which is one of the biggest in the history of Suffolk Cricket, will see the Magnus Group name appear on the front of the shirts of all county sides.
Olly Magnus, CEO of Magnus Group, was educated at Ipswich School and played for Old Ipswichian, Bury St Edmunds and Hadleigh Cricket Clubs. He is also a member of the MCC.
He said: “Having been a sponsor of Suffolk Junior cricket for a number of years, when the opportunity to become a key business partner with Suffolk Cricket came about I had no hesitation in agreeing to it.
“As a huge cricket lover myself and having been heavily involved for a number of years in playing, coaching and sponsoring locally, it seemed the ideal time to show my support and I am thrilled to be involved and look forward to the next few years of success on and off the pitch.”
Suffolk CCC Chairman Andrew Squire said: “What great news for Suffolk Cricket to have Olly and his Magnus Group team joining us as a key business partner for the next three years.
“Not only is Olly a staunch local cricket supporter he has already supported our young cricketers over a number of years previously. This partnership builds on this relationship and will provide many key benefits and we will look to promote the Magnus Group in return.”
The sponsorship deal was brokered by Colin Walters, who was appointed as the county’s commercial manager last September to attract new investment in Suffolk Cricket.
